jakarta, Indonesia - ABB and PLN Icon Plus have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to develop the electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure in Indonesia.

The collaboration includes technology assessment, charger deployment, and the development of a Charging Station Management System (CSMS) platform. The aim is to grow the EV charging services in Indonesia and support the government's efforts to accelerate the adoption of e-mobility in the country.

The partnership between ABB, ABB E-mobility and PLN Icon Plus will jointly conduct studies and discussions related to the expansion of EV charging services, including market research, undertaking marketing activities, and the deployment of EV chargers. The companies will also form a synergy in EV charging services to establish a safe and smart charging experience for all EV users in Indonesia that complies with charging standards.

The Indonesian government has set a target to have at least 2.1 million electric motorcycles and 20,000 electric cars on the road by 2025. ABB E-mobility has already installed multiple DC fast chargers in Indonesia, providing strategic support to the government's effort to adopt smart, reliable, and emission-free mobility solutions.
