ABO Energy Expands Polish Footprint with Solar Park Approval

14 Aug 2025
ABO Energy has secured a feed-in tariff for its Gubin Solar Park, marking a key milestone in the company's renewable energy expansion in Poland. The 17 MWp solar park, now under construction on a former military site in the Lubuskie voivodeship, will provide clean electricity for over 6,000 households.

The tariff was awarded through Poland's latest tender run by the Energy Regulatory Office (URE). This follows the project's successful grid connection approval--one of the most challenging steps in the country's development process.

"This is an important step for ABO Energy Polska," said Aleksandra Koska, Managing Director of the company's Polish operations. "With the Gubin project underway and the tariff in place, we're building strong momentum in the Polish renewables market."

ABO Energy, active in Poland since 2019, operates from its Łódź office with a team of 18 working across wind, solar, and battery projects totaling over 1 GW in capacity. The company has recently secured grid connections for three additional solar parks and applied for three standalone battery storage projects, including a 257 MW facility.

"The outlook for renewables in Poland is excellent," noted Dr Klaus Pötter, General Manager. With renewables overtaking coal in Poland's electricity mix for the first time in June 2025, and a national goal to increase their share from 29% to 56% by 2030, the sector is poised for rapid growth.

Despite regulatory headwinds for onshore wind, ABO Energy remains committed to wind, solar, and storage development across the country.
