Acciona Energia Explores Sale of 361 MW Wind Portfolio in Spain
Acciona Energia is reportedly pursuing the sale of a 361 MW portfolio of wind farms in Spain as part of its ongoing renewable energy asset rotation strategy.
According to market reports, the company has appointed BNP Paribas to advise on the potential transaction, which involves several operational onshore wind farms grouped internally under the name “Project Sirocco.”
The assets are described as relatively mature wind farms that sell electricity into the wholesale power market rather than operating under long-term contracted revenue structures.
Industry sources cited in reports indicated that independent power producers including Opdenergy and Nadara are among parties interested in the process. Non-binding offers have reportedly already been submitted, with due diligence underway ahead of potential binding bids.
The portfolio could reportedly be valued at between €350 million and €400 million (approximately $378 million to $432 million), according to market estimates.
Neither Acciona Energia nor BNP Paribas publicly commented on the reported transaction.
The possible divestment aligns with Acciona Energia’s broader asset rotation programme, which has involved renewable energy disposals across multiple international markets since 2024. According to company disclosures, prior transactions generated approximately €3.2 billion and contributed significantly to earnings in 2025.
Reports also indicate that Acciona is targeting additional renewable asset sales exceeding 1.5 GW before summer 2026, with an expected value of around €1.1 billion ($1.2 billion).
The potential transaction reflects continued activity in the European renewables mergers and acquisitions market, where utilities and infrastructure investors are actively seeking operational wind and solar assets to expand generation portfolios and secure long-term electricity exposure.
