Adani Group Announces $100 Billion Investment in AI-Ready Data Centres by 2035

17 Feb 2026
Adani Group has announced plans to invest $100 billion by 2035 to develop renewable-powered, hyperscale AI-ready data centres across India, aiming to position the country as a global hub for advanced computing infrastructure.

The initiative will expand the Group’s existing 2 GW national data centre platform under AdaniConnex to 5 GW. The facilities are designed as an integrated energy-and-compute ecosystem, combining renewable power generation, transmission infrastructure, and high-density AI computing capacity.

According to the company, the investment could catalyse an additional $150 billion in related sectors, including server manufacturing, advanced electrical systems, and sovereign cloud infrastructure—potentially creating a $250 billion AI ecosystem over the next decade.

Chairman Gautam Adani said the move reflects India’s ambition to lead in what he described as the “Intelligence Revolution,” adding that the country aims to build capabilities across applications, models, chips, energy, and data centres.

The company also announced an additional $55 billion commitment to expand its renewable portfolio, including large-scale Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). To reduce supply chain dependencies, the Group plans to co-invest in domestic manufacturing of transformers, grid systems, inverters, and thermal management solutions.

In parallel, Flipkart will deepen its partnership with the Group to develop a second AI-focused facility supporting high-performance computing and next-generation digital commerce workloads.

A portion of GPU capacity is expected to be allocated to Indian startups and research institutions, supporting development of domestic Large Language Models (LLMs) and national data initiatives.
