Adapture Renewables Energizes 14.6-MW Rivanna Solar Project in Virginia
Adapture Renewables has announced the successful completion of Rivanna Solar, a 14.6-MW solar project in Charlottesville, Virginia. This marks the company's first project in the state and within the Dominion Energy and PJM Interconnection territories.
The project comes at a pivotal time as Virginia experiences unprecedented power demand growth, driven largely by the state's expanding data center industry. Rivanna Solar will play a crucial role in supporting Virginia's transition to clean energy.
Zack Zoller, VP of EPC at Adapture Renewables, stated:
"Rivanna Solar underscores our commitment to delivering sustainable energy solutions despite challenges like the COVID-19 pandemic. This project supports local communities and aligns with Virginia's energy goals."
The development benefitted from Inflation Reduction Act incentives, emphasizing collaboration with local contractors, the Charlottesville community, and the landowner. After its operational lifespan, the site is expected to return to timber farming, enriched by decades of natural restoration.
