Alcazar Energy Partners Joins Siemens Gamesa for 500 MW Wind Project in Egypt

25 Nov 2025

Alcazar Energy Partners (AEP) has formalized a partnership with Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy (SGRE) for the final development, construction, and operation of the 500 MW NIAT Wind Project in Egypt. Under a newly signed Share Sale and Purchase Agreement, AEP will assume full ownership and operational responsibility upon completion of the transaction and regulatory approvals.

Siemens Gamesa, which initiated the project, will continue as a strategic partner, providing turbine technology and related services. The project is expected to generate up to 2.5 TWh of clean electricity annually, avoiding more than 1.2 million tonnes of CO₂-equivalent emissions and powering approximately 280,000 households.

The development phase is projected to create up to 2,500 jobs during construction and operation. AEP and SGRE will collaborate on technical, commercial, and execution aspects, aiming for financial close and construction completion.

Daniel Calderon, Co-founder and Managing Partner of AEP, emphasized the significance of the project for Egypt’s clean energy transition and highlighted Siemens Gamesa’s experience in large-scale wind installations in the region.

AEP has been active in Egypt’s renewable energy sector since 2014 and is the largest equity investor in the Benban Solar Park, with over 3.4 GW of clean energy capacity developed across its funds.
