Cadeler Signs Deal to Deploy 64 x 15MW Turbines in Major UK Offshore Wind Far

8 Nov 2024
Cadeler A/S has signed firm contracts with ScottishPower Renewables to transport and install 64 x 15MW offshore wind turbine generators (WTGs) and the foundations for the East Anglia TWO Offshore Wind Farm. This substantial offshore wind project, located off the coast of the UK, will begin operations in 2027 and is projected to generate clean energy for nearly one million homes annually.

With contracts valued between EUR 360-382 million, Cadeler's role includes deploying one of its newly built A-class vessels for WTG and foundation installation. In collaboration with an O-class vessel from its existing fleet, Cadeler demonstrates its operational flexibility and capacity to optimize across vessel classes. Mikkel Gleerup, CEO of Cadeler, emphasized the strategic alignment, saying, "Cadeler's fleet and capabilities meet the demand for efficiency in complex offshore wind projects, bolstering our role in the green energy transition."

The UK's recent offshore wind auction allocated 960MW of capacity to the East Anglia TWO project, a critical step toward the UK's 2030 clean energy goals. Charlie Jordan, CEO of ScottishPower Renewables, highlighted the urgency of this collaboration: "With Cadeler on board, we are positioned to deliver this key project that brings us closer to a cleaner, greener future."

This project strengthens Cadeler's leadership in offshore wind installation and supports Scotland's ambitious renewable energy objectives.
