Clean Energy Alliance, a community choice energy provider, has announced a new partnership with Luminia, a San Diego-based renewable energy developer, to advance solar and battery storage across Northern San Diego County.

Approved during the CEA Board meeting on March 27, the initiative includes the development of 20 megawatts (MW) of solar power and 20 MW of battery storage in cities including Vista, Oceanside, and San Marcos. The projects are expected to be operational by 2027.

The partnership features a portfolio of 20-year Power Purchase Agreements and 10-year Energy Storage Service Agreements, aiming to enhance local clean energy access and grid reliability. The installations will span 25 rooftop solar projects and four battery storage systems on underutilized commercial properties.

Greg Wade, CEO of Clean Energy Alliance, emphasized the significance of working with a local partner: "This collaboration represents a shared vision to deliver innovative locally distributed clean energy options to North County."

David Field, CEO of Luminia, highlighted the economic and environmental benefits, noting that the partnership supports scalable, resilient solutions for the region.

Luminia's commitment includes:

• $5 million in local construction wages

• Up to $2.9 million in regional property tax revenue

• Use of local labor and apprenticeship programs

The deal aligns with CEA's long-term goals to stabilize power costs and invest in sustainable infrastructure for its 250,000+ customers.
