Siemens and E.ON Expand European EV Network

Siemens and E.ON have signed a global framework agreement (GFA) aimed at enhancing E.ON's public charging infrastructure across Europe. This collaboration will strengthen the charging network by deploying Siemens' SICHARGE D high-power chargers and IoT-enabled substations, facilitating a reliable charging experience for electric vehicle (EV) drivers.

The agreement also includes access to Sifinity Control, a web-based backend service, allowing E.ON to efficiently manage and monitor its charging stations. This feature ensures maximum reliability and uptime for E.ON's customers. Over the next two years, the companies will work together to deploy at least 1,000 new public high-power charging points annually across key markets, including Germany, Italy, Sweden, and the United Kingdom.

As part of the agreement, Siemens will offer various service packages throughout the lifespan of the infrastructure to ensure network stability and optimal performance. Future developments, such as truck charging and Megawatt charging, are also in focus to meet the growing demand for a broader range of electric road transport solutions.

E.ON Drive Infrastructure COO, Arjan Van Der Eijk, emphasized the importance of the partnership, stating that Siemens' solutions would help optimize the public charging network for a wide range of use cases.
