Eaton, a global intelligent power management company, has started construction on a new 36,000-square-meter advanced manufacturing and engineering center in collaboration with Jebel Ali Free Zone (Jafza), part of DP World. The facility is scheduled to open in 2026, creating over 700 new jobs in research, engineering, and advanced manufacturing.
Located in Jafza, the new site will enhance Eaton's production of electrical and electronic components for data centers, utilities, and commercial buildings across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA). The project aligns with Dubai's D33 Economic Agenda, aimed at boosting sustainable industrial growth and innovation.
The facility will integrate 20 Industry 4.0 technologies, including artificial intelligence, to advance manufacturing capabilities. It is also designed to achieve LEED Gold certification, supporting Eaton's and Dubai's shared commitment to sustainability.
Paulo Ruiz, CEO of Eaton, said the investment strengthens the company's ability to meet growing regional demand for efficient power solutions. Hadi Badri, CEO of the Dubai Economic Development Corporation (DEDC), noted that the project reinforces Dubai's position as a hub for high-tech manufacturing. Abdulla Bin Damithan, CEO and Managing Director of DP World GCC, highlighted the role of Jafza in driving Dubai's industrial growth through world-class infrastructure and connectivity.
The development adds to the more than 700 manufacturing businesses already operating in Jafza, supporting Dubai's vision to become a global leader in sustainable industrial innovation.
