EDF Renewables North America and Enbridge Inc. have announced the full commercial operation of the Fox Squirrel Solar project. Located in Madison County, Ohio, the 577 MWac/749 MWdc utility-scale solar facility is among the largest solar developments east of the Mississippi River.

The project achieved full operational status in December 2024, with all three phases now delivering electricity to the PJM grid. Fox Squirrel Solar, developed by EDF Renewables, is owned in partnership with Enbridge. The facility features 1.4 million solar panels and 159 inverters, with over 1.5 million work hours logged during construction.

The energy generated is delivered to Amazon under power purchase agreements, supporting the company's Climate Pledge goals. Kate O'Hair, Senior Vice President of Onshore Development at EDF Renewables, highlighted the project's impact: "Fox Squirrel has brought hundreds of jobs and millions of dollars to Madison County while advancing our commitment to sustainability."

Tom Carbone, Vice President of Power Business Development at Enbridge, noted the project's alignment with Enbridge's renewable energy strategy: "This milestone reinforces our leadership in the energy transition and supports Amazon's sustainability objectives."
