Norway's hydro-power potential takes a leap forward as ELIN Motoren and Voith collaborate on the construction of a new small hydroelectric power station in Kilandsfoss.

The project features Voith's StreamDiver turbines, each equipped with eight permanent-magnet generators sourced from ELIN Motoren, delivering an impressive 7.5 MW of energy and an estimated annual generation of 38 GWh. To adapt to deviating water flow conditions, the StreamDiver is designed with a regulated version and incorporates a wicket gate mechanism.

An engineering marvel, these permanent-magnet generators seamlessly integrate into the turbine bulb nose, excelling in challenging underwater environments. Their exclusive use is driven by exceptional efficiency and lightweight handling. The generators undergo rigorous testing, including underwater type tests replicating real operational conditions, ensuring reliable performance in the field.
