ABB Partners With LevelTen Energy on Renewable Energy Procurement
ABB has announced a strategic partnership and minority investment in LevelTen Energy, the world's largest marketplace for clean energy transactions, including power purchase agreements (PPAs). Financial terms of the investment were not disclosed. The partnership is intended to strengthen ABB's energy and carbon advisory services by combining its electrification and energy management expertise with LevelTen's renewable energy procurement platform.
LevelTen Energy has facilitated more than 20 GW of clean energy transactions across 35+ markets in North America and Europe. Through the collaboration, ABB will expand its offering to include renewable energy procurement alongside electrification, energy optimization, and emissions reduction services for commercial and industrial customers.
According to ABB, the agreement responds to growing demand from businesses seeking long-term access to clean electricity while navigating increasingly complex energy markets and evolving regulatory requirements. The partnership also provides ABB with access to LevelTen's network of renewable energy developers and projects, while LevelTen gains broader access to ABB's industrial customer base and global market presence.
Stuart Thompson, President of ABB's Electrification Service division, said the partnership adds renewable energy procurement capabilities to the company's advisory services, helping customers secure long-term clean power. Bryce Smith, CEO of LevelTen Energy, said the collaboration will enable ABB's customers to access clean power, capacity, and portfolio management tools more efficiently. The investment, made through ABB Electrification Ventures, brings the venture capital arm's total investments to more than US$110 million across 18 startups since 2021.
