Actis Expands Into Poland With 1.5GW Renewable Energy Platform
UK infrastructure investor Actis has entered the Polish renewable energy market through the acquisition of Klara Renewables from infrastructure equity fund manager CVC DIF. The deal includes an operational onshore wind portfolio with 171MW of installed capacity and creates opportunities to expand through co-located solar photovoltaic (PV) and battery energy storage system (BESS) projects.
The portfolio also includes around 275MW of potential hybrid capacity. Actis intends to build the acquisition into a renewable energy platform targeting up to 1.5GW across onshore wind, solar PV and battery storage in Poland.
The acquired assets comprise three wind farms in Wielkopolska, two in Kujawy-Pomorze and one in Podlasie. All operational projects are backed by contracts for difference running until 2038 and 2039 and use Vestas turbine technology.
The platform is Actis' second renewable energy venture in Central and Eastern Europe, following the launch of Rezolv Energy in Romania and Bulgaria in 2022.
