Alight Receives €110 Million from Rabobank for Swedish Solar Park Projects

Alight, a Swedish independent power producer specializing in solar energy, has secured €110 million in senior debt portfolio financing from Rabobank, a Dutch financial institution. This funding will support the development, ownership, and operation of 220 megawatts peak (MWp) of small to medium-sized solar parks across Sweden.

This financing agreement is notable as the first portfolio facility of its kind in the Nordic region. The funding is expected to play a critical role in helping Sweden meet its growing electricity demand, particularly as the country pushes toward renewable energy solutions.

Alight's CEO, Harald Ã-verholm, praised the deal, stating: "This portfolio financing provides us with the flexibility to finance small to medium-sized projects, helping to accelerate the renewable energy transition in Sweden at a time when the country is seeing a steep increase in electricity demand."

He also commended Rabobank for its innovative approach to financing renewable energy, adding, "We hope to see more facilities follow suit."

The €110 million financing marks a significant milestone for the solar energy sector in Sweden, as the country continues to shift toward sustainable power sources.
