Aukera Raises $533M for BESS and Renewable Projects
Aukera Energy, a Brussels-based renewable energy and battery storage platform, has closed a $533 million (€460 million) structured credit facility led by EIG Credit Management.
The facility increases Aukera’s committed capital from $230 million (€200 million) to $533 million (€460 million) through a new $302,6 million (€260 million) Series 2 tranche. The funding will support the development of renewable generation, battery energy storage systems (BESS) and energy infrastructure across Belgium, the UK, Germany, Romania and Italy.
Co-founded by Catalin Breaban and Pascal Emsens, Aukera currently has nearly 1 GW of projects in construction or operation and a 14 GW European development pipeline.
The financing highlights continued institutional investment in grid infrastructure, energy storage and renewable power assets across Europe.
