BLM Reserves Land for 600-MW Star Range Solar Project in Utah

The US Bureau of Land Management (BLM) has set aside 5,159 acres of public land in Beaver County, Utah, for the development of a 600-MW solar project. This temporary withdrawal from public land laws, including the Mining Law, will last two years, allowing the BLM to assess potential environmental impacts.

The Star Range Solar Project, proposed by a subsidiary of 174 Power Global LLC, will be built near Milford in two 300-MW phases. The facility will connect to an existing 345-kV transmission line.

174 Power Global, an affiliate of South Korea's Hanwha Group, has over 8 GW of renewable projects in its pipeline. The company's portfolio includes a 297-MW battery storage project in Nevada, a 150-MW photovoltaic facility in Colorado, and 800 MW of commissioned solar, energy storage, and green hydrogen plants across the US.
