Good Energy Signs Largest-Ever Renewable Power Deal
Good Energy has signed its largest-ever renewable power agreement with Ørsted, securing electricity supply from the Walney 1 and Walney 2 offshore wind farms in the UK.
Under the two-year power purchase agreement (PPA), Good Energy will purchase 200GWh of renewable electricity annually from October 2026 through October 2028, representing a total of 400GWh over the contract period.
The company said the agreement will help support growing demand for renewable electricity among its customers and strengthen its long-term energy sourcing strategy.
The deal builds on an existing relationship between the two companies, following a previous agreement signed in 2023 for electricity supplied from the Hornsea 1 offshore wind farm.
Good Energy said its approach combines power purchased from independent renewable generators with larger-scale agreements to secure additional renewable energy volumes.
The Walney offshore wind farms, located in the Irish Sea, are among the UK’s major offshore wind developments and contribute renewable electricity to the national grid.
The companies did not disclose the financial value of the agreement.
