Hanwha Qcells Supports One of the Largest Solar and Energy Storage Projects in the U.S.

Hanwha Qcells, the energy business of Hanwha Solutions, is advancing the development of the Atlas Energy Park in La Paz County, Arizona, a large-scale renewable energy complex expected to include 2.8 GW of solar generation capacity and 5.7 GWh of energy storage capacity by 2028.

The company will provide engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) services for the 14-project development, which covers approximately 63.66 square kilometers. Hanwha Qcells will also supply the solar modules used across the projects.

The Atlas Energy Park includes the Atlas V and Atlas VI solar projects, which together represent 372 MWdc of solar capacity. Hanwha Qcells said it has supported the projects across multiple stages, including development, construction, module supply and long-term asset management.

The project highlights Hanwha Qcells’ integrated business model, combining solar manufacturing, project development, EPC capabilities and long-term asset management. The company operates U.S. solar manufacturing facilities, including its Georgia production hub, and has established domestic supply partnerships for energy storage solutions.

Chris Hodrick, CEO and President of Hanwha Qcells’ EPC business, said, “The Atlas Energy Park is a landmark project that once again demonstrates Qcells’ EPC capabilities, US supply chain and integrated business expertise spanning development, construction and asset sales.”

He added, “We will continue to increase customer value and strengthen our competitiveness through integrated solar and energy storage solutions while helping drive the growth of the North American renewable energy market.”

The Atlas Energy Park is expected to strengthen grid reliability in the Southwestern United States and California while supporting construction employment and long-term economic activity in Arizona.

Hanwha Qcells has been expanding its U.S. renewable energy presence through large-scale solar and storage projects, supported by its domestic manufacturing base and partnerships across the clean energy supply chain.
