Meta Signs Agreements with Invenergy for 760 MW of Clean Solar Energy

Meta Platforms Inc. has signed agreements with Invenergy for 760 MW of renewable energy, surpassing 1 GW of clean energy procurement from the Chicago-based energy company. These new Environmental Attribute Purchase Agreements (EAPAs) support Meta's ongoing commitment to power all of its operations with 100% clean energy.

The four solar facilities contracted through Invenergy include the Hardin II Solar (150 MW, Ohio), Delilah II Solar (150 MW, Texas), Tip Top Solar (110 MW, New Mexico), and Chalk Bluff Solar (350 MW, Arkansas). These projects are set to come online between 2024 and 2027, meeting growing energy demand while providing additional clean energy capacity to the local grids.

Ted Romaine, Executive Vice President of Origination at Invenergy, highlighted the importance of the partnership in supporting Meta's clean energy goals while contributing to local economies through job creation. "Energy demand is soaring, and Invenergy is excited to deliver long-term, clean energy solutions," said Romaine.

Urvi Parekh, Meta's Head of Global Energy, echoed this sentiment, noting that surpassing 1 GW of clean energy procurement from Invenergy reflects Meta's dedication to sustainability. "These projects will help us continue our commitment to support all of our operations with 100% clean energy," said Parekh.

This collaboration strengthens both companies' positions in the clean energy market and aligns with Meta's long-term sustainability goals.
