Nordex Expands North America Pipeline with 484MW Orders
German wind turbine manufacturer Nordex SE has secured three new orders in the United States totaling 484 MW, reinforcing continued demand for large-scale onshore wind projects in North America.
The contracts include a project featuring 32 N133/4.8 turbines, contributing approximately 154 MW of installed capacity, alongside two additional orders totaling around 350 MW using 56 N163/5.X turbines. The company did not disclose the names of the customers or project developers involved.
According to Nordex North America CEO Manav Sharma, the latest agreements reflect sustained confidence in the company’s technology and execution capabilities. He said:
“These projects clearly demonstrate the trust our customers place in Nordex technology and execution capabilities. They are a clear signal that our momentum in the region continues to accelerate.”
He also highlighted the role of Nordex’s turbine portfolio and regional supply chain in supporting utility-scale wind deployment across constrained grid environments.
The orders strengthen Nordex’s position in the North American onshore wind market, where demand continues to be driven by utility procurement, corporate renewable targets, and grid-scale capacity expansion.
Nordex has commissioned more than 64 GW of wind capacity globally across over 40 markets since 1985 and reported approximately $8,6 billion (€7.6 billion) in sales in 2025. The company operates manufacturing facilities in Germany, Spain, Brazil, India, and the United States, and focuses on turbine classes designed for regions with limited land availability and grid constraints.
The latest 484 MW in orders adds to its growing backlog in North America, where wind energy continues to play a central role in grid decarbonization and capacity expansion strategies.
