Nordex Group Secures 200 MW Wind Turbine Order in Canada
The Nordex Group has received an order for approximately 200 megawatts (MW) of wind power capacity in Canada, marking the company’s market entry into the province of New Brunswick.
Under the agreement, Nordex will supply 34 N163/5.X wind turbines, each designed for cold climate conditions, to an undisclosed wind farm project. The order also includes a 30-year service agreement, covering long-term maintenance and operational support.
The turbines will be installed on 125-metre tubular steel towers and equipped with Advanced Anti-Icing Systems, allowing reliable operation in harsh winter environments. Delivery and installation are scheduled to begin in mid-2027.
The project reflects Nordex’s expanding footprint in the Canadian renewable energy market, as the country continues to increase wind power capacity to meet its climate and energy transition targets. Canada’s eastern provinces, including New Brunswick, are seeking additional renewable generation to support grid stability and reduce emissions.
Manav Sharma, CEO North America of the Nordex Group, said the company has seen steady growth in Canada in recent years, adding that demand for turbines optimized for cold climates positions Nordex well for future opportunities in the region.
