Qualitas Energy Starts 42 MW Wind Farm Repowering in Germany
Qualitas Energy has begun construction of the 42 MW Ingstetten wind farm repowering project in Baden-Württemberg, Germany.
The project will replace five aging NEG Micon NM 48 turbines with six Enercon E-175 units, each rated at 7 MW. The existing turbines and associated infrastructure, including foundations, crane pads and access roads, will be dismantled as part of the project.
Commissioning of the six new turbines is targeted for the end of 2027. Once operational, the repowered wind farm is expected to generate enough electricity to supply approximately 28,000 households annually.
The project is an example of wind farm repowering, allowing existing sites and infrastructure to accommodate newer, higher-capacity equipment without developing an entirely new wind farm site.
Qualitas Energy said it has more than 100 wind projects in Germany, with over 3 GW in late-stage development and more than 1 GW under construction or in operation.
