RWE wins permit to build 760-megawatt offshore wind farm

North Sea - On the site, RWE will be able to deliver more than 760 megawatts (MW) of offshore wind capacity, which is enough to supply the equivalent of almost one million Dutch homes.

RWE has announced that they won the permit to build a 760-megawatt offshore wind farm, Hollandse Kust West (HKW) VII. The site is located in the North Sea, about 53 kilometers (33 miles) off the Dutch coast. On the site, RWE will be able to deliver more than 760 megawatts (MW) of offshore wind capacity, which is enough to supply the equivalent of almost one million Dutch homes.

According to RWE, by awarding them with this opportunity, the Dutch government also recognised their innovative concept for full system integration, which can serve as a blueprint for future generations of offshore wind farms.

This represents an important step on the road towards growing our global offshore wind capacity to 8 gigawatts by 2030.
