Siemens Gamesa closed the 2022 fiscal year with great accomplishment

ZAMUNDIO, SPAIN - Siemens Gamesa announced that their supply chain accounts for over 80% of their carbon footprint

According to Siemens Gamesa, they closed the 2022 fiscal year with a great accomplishment, as 9% of our annual purchasing volume from suppliers had set decarbonization targets validated by the Science Based Targets initiative. Another 9% have already committed to verifying their targets in the future. These numbers have tripled over the last year, demonstrating progress made towards our 30% coverage target by 2025.

Siemens Gamesa announced that their supply chain accounts for over 80% of their carbon footprint. They acknowledge their responsibility in promoting a green transition across the entire value chain by also encouraging all their business partners to make decarbonization efforts.

"To accelerate this, we have included decarbonization requirements in our supplier framework agreements and will introduce measures such as supplier and product carbon footprint as a critical factor in future awarding. This would be the core of our ambition to become a Net Zero Company by 2040," said Siemens Gamesa in their official press release.
