Vestas Lands 124 MW Order from EDF for Québec Wind Project

Vestas has announced a 124 MW turbine supply order from EDF Power Solutions North America for the Haute-Chaudière wind project in Québec. The order includes 20 EnVentus V162-6.2 MW turbines and a 10-year Active Output Management (AOM) 5000 service agreement.

Set for delivery in Q2 2026 and commissioning by Q4 2026, the project will contribute to Hydro-Québec's goal of adding 10 GW of wind power by 2035. Once operational, it will supply clean energy to tens of thousands of homes and support local job creation.

Laura Beane, President of Vestas North America, emphasized the project's strategic importance, noting its alignment with Québec's long-term energy goals. Tristan Grimbert, President and CEO of EDF Power Solutions North America, highlighted the two-decade, 2.9 GW partnership between the companies.

The towers for the turbines will be supplied by Québec-based Marmen, supporting 130 local jobs in Trois-Rivières.

With over 5 GW installed across Canada, Vestas is a major player in the country's wind energy market, currently servicing 428 MW in Québec alone.
