Vestas Secures Wind Turbine Orders Across Five Global Markets
Vestas Wind Systems A/S has secured a series of turbine supply agreements totaling 309 MW across five markets outside Germany, alongside additional German contracts, as part of its latest quarterly order intake. The portfolio spans Poland, Romania, Latvia, Eastern Europe, and Japan, reinforcing continued demand for utility-scale wind capacity across both established and emerging renewable markets.
The largest of the non-German orders comes from Latvia, where Vestas will deliver 117 MW using 18 units of the V162-6.5 MW turbine platform. The project includes a 30-year AOM 5000 service agreement, with deliveries scheduled to begin in early 2027 and commissioning expected toward the end of that year.
In Eastern Europe, Vestas secured a 95 MW contract based on 21 V163-4.5 MW turbines, paired with a long-term service agreement. Both delivery and commissioning are planned for 2027, reflecting synchronized deployment timelines across the region.
The Romania order covers 38 MW, with six V162-6.4 MW turbines, also under a long-term maintenance framework. Meanwhile, Japan accounts for another 38 MW, supplied through nine V136-4.2 MW turbines, with commissioning scheduled for 2029 following a 2028 delivery window.
In Poland, Vestas will install 21 MW of capacity using six V126-3.5 MW turbines, supported by a 10-year service agreement and commissioning targeted for late 2027.
Alongside these projects, the company also confirmed additional German orders totaling 142 MW, involving multiple turbine configurations and long-term service contracts, further strengthening its European pipeline.
Across all contracts, Vestas continues to bundle turbine supply with multi-decade service agreements, a structure that supports lifecycle performance optimization and operational stability for wind farm owners. No direct quotations were included in the release.
The order mix reflects continued preference for higher-capacity turbine platforms such as the V162 and V163 series, which are increasingly deployed in medium-to-high wind resource regions to maximize energy yield per installation footprint.
