ENGIE Expands Global PPA Portfolio with 4.3 GW in 2024

4 Feb 2025
ENGIE announced that it secured 4.3 GW of new Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) in 2024, marking a significant increase from 2.7 GW in 2023. This milestone strengthens ENGIE's position as a global leader in renewable energy supply, bringing its total contracted PPA portfolio to 14 GW.

The company signed 85 new agreements across North America, South America, Asia, Europe, and Oceania, highlighting the rising demand for decarbonized electricity. Notable deals include contracts with Meta in the U.S. and an expanded global partnership with Google, covering developments in Belgium and the United States. ENGIE also entered new sectors such as utilities, chemicals, and healthcare.

In North America alone, ENGIE secured 1.5 GW of PPAs, driven by high renewable energy demand. Among its key projects is the Chillingham Park solar facility (350 MW) in Texas, ENGIE's largest U.S. solar project to date.

Beyond traditional solar, wind, and hydro PPAs, ENGIE is also pioneering Biomethane Purchase Agreements (BPAs), signing major deals with companies like Arkema and BASF in 2024.

"In 2024, we confirmed our leading position in the PPA market thanks to our cutting-edge expertise and diversified renewable asset base," said Edouard Neviaski, Executive Vice President of Supply & Energy Management. He emphasized that the company will continue expanding in the fast-growing PPA market, particularly in the U.S., to meet the increasing demand for tailor-made energy solutions.
