Envision and FERA Partner on 1GW Wind Energy and Battery Storage Project
Envision Energy and FERA Australia have announced a strategic partnership to develop large-scale hybrid renewable energy projects across Australia's National Electricity Market (NEM). The collaboration aims to deliver up to 1 gigawatt (GW) of wind generation and 1.5 gigawatt-hours (GWh) of energy storage.
Signed during the Australia Energy Wind Conference in Melbourne, the agreement represents a milestone for hybrid energy deployment in the region. It will combine Envision Energy's wind turbines, containerized battery systems, grid-forming power conversion systems, and proprietary Hybrid Power Plant Controller (HPPC).
"This collaboration represents a major step forward in demonstrating how hybrid wind and storage solutions can unlock new possibilities for Australia's energy future," said Kane Xu, SVP and President of International Product Line at Envision Energy.
Sebastiano Falesi, Head of FERA Australia, added, "Integrating wind power and energy storage will constitute an excellent model for future initiatives."
The partnership will begin with a pilot project in Victoria, showcasing how hybrid plants can enhance grid reliability and demonstrate commercial viability in clean energy generation. The plant will feature Envision's full-converter wind turbines and advanced grid-forming battery systems.
