G&W Electric Expands Manufacturing Facility in Mexico to Meet Global Demand

26 Nov 2024
G&W Electric, a global manufacturer of power grid components, has completed a significant expansion of its San Luis Potosí manufacturing plant in Mexico, quadrupling the facility's size. This move addresses growing market demand across Latin America and other international regions.

Since 2008, the San Luis Potosí plant has been a key production hub for G&W Electric, initially serving the Mexican market but later expanding to support global product development and engineering capabilities.

"This investment reflects our commitment to meeting customer needs worldwide while fostering job creation and long-term opportunities for the San Luis Potosí community," said John Mueller, chairman and owner of G&W Electric.

The new facility is ISO-certified across quality, environmental, and safety standards (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001). The expanded capacity aims to reduce lead times and improve product availability globally, the company noted.

Founded in 1905, G&W Electric specializes in advanced load and fault interrupting switches, reclosers, sensors, system protection equipment, and transmission and distribution solutions.

The expansion aligns with growing demand for grid components fueled by increased power consumption and renewable energy integration. The global switchgear market, for instance, is projected to grow at a CAGR of 6.7% through 2031, driven by infrastructure development and energy transition goals.
