GE Vernova and Amazon Web Services (AWS, a subsidiary of Amazon.com Inc.) have signed a strategic framework agreement to enhance energy solutions for AWS data centers worldwide. The collaboration aims to address rising global energy demands, improve grid security, and advance decarbonization efforts.

Under the agreement, GE Vernova will provide electrification systems, including turnkey substation solutions to connect AWS data centers to the grid. Additionally, the company will support AWS's onshore wind energy projects and explore further opportunities in power generation, research, and financial services.

AWS, in turn, will assist GE Vernova in its cloud migration and digital innovation initiatives, leveraging its generative AI, high-performance computing, and big data analytics. This will enable GE Vernova to enhance its operational efficiency and accelerate the development of advanced digital solutions.

Both companies will also collaborate on electrification software, supporting cloud deployments for electric grids and manufacturing industries.

Howard Gefen, General Manager for Energy & Utilities at AWS, stated that the partnership will "accelerate data and energy efficiencies, driving reliable and more sustainable operations." Pablo Koziner, Chief Commercial Officer at GE Vernova, highlighted the company's ability to provide "reliable, cost-effective, and sustainable electricity" for AWS's expanding data center network.

The financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
