GE Vernova and Elsewedy Partner on Grid Stability for Saudi Renewable Projects
GE Vernova has signed a supply agreement with Elsewedy Electric Power Systems Projects to deliver synchronous condensers--also known as Rotating Stabilizers--to key renewable energy sites across Saudi Arabia. The systems are designed to support grid stability as the Kingdom continues expanding its renewable energy infrastructure.
The condensers provide critical inertia and voltage control, helping to stabilize power systems amid the growing share of intermittent renewable generation. The agreement marks a further step in GE Vernova's involvement in large-scale grid modernization and energy transition efforts across the Middle East and Africa.
As renewable energy integration accelerates in Saudi Arabia, technologies that ensure frequency regulation and voltage stability become increasingly essential to grid reliability.
This project underscores the importance of advanced grid solutions in supporting the Kingdom's Vision 2030 targets, which include diversifying energy sources and increasing the share of renewables in the national power mix.
