In a major move towards sustainable energy solutions, General Electric's unit, GE Vernova, has sealed a framework deal with Forestalia for the installation of onshore wind turbines across multiple sites in Spain. This collaboration combines the operations of GE Digital, Renewable Energy, and GE Power.

Under the agreement, GE will provide approximately 693 megawatts (MW) of wind turbines distributed across 16 project sites in the Aragon region. The installation will feature 110 units of 6.1-158 wind turbines, with the first phase already underway, involving the construction of 33 wind turbines in five wind farms in the Zaragoza region.

Of the 110 turbines, 33 will have a hub height of 101 meters, while the rest will reach 120.9 meters. The delivery of all turbine units is scheduled for completion by the end of 2024. This strategic move not only supports Spain's ambitious shift towards renewable energy but also positions GE as a key player in the region's wind power landscape.

This venture builds upon the foundation of a prior agreement signed in 2016 and further strengthens GE's commitment to sustainable energy solutions. GE Vernova's recent series of deals, including the November 2023 agreement with O2 Power Private Limited in India and the August contracts with Royal Golden Eagle Group and Beijing Energy International Holding Co., underscore the company's growth trajectory in the global renewable energy sector.
