Greenlane Unveils Groundbreaking EV Charging Corridor from LA to Vegas
Greenlane has made waves with the announcement of its inaugural commercial EV charging corridor, stretching 280 miles from Los Angeles to Las Vegas. Formed through a joint venture between Daimler Truck North America, NextEra Energy Resources, and BlackRock, this corridor signifies a pivotal moment in the transportation industry's sustainability efforts.
Featuring over 100 chargers and modern amenities tailored for driver comfort and efficiency, the corridor is part of Greenlane's ambitious 12-point plan for green trucking. Initial charging locations in Colton, Barstow, and Baker, California, strategically placed along Interstate 15, aim to accelerate the adoption of carbon-neutral freight transportation.
With plans for expansion over the next year, including sites in Southern Nevada and San Pedro, California, Greenlane is committed to creating a nationwide network of commercial charging infrastructure. The flagship site in Colton, scheduled to commence construction this spring, will offer a range of charging options, from medium- to heavy-duty vehicles, including long-duration and overnight charging for various fleet types.
Patrick Macdonald-King, CEO of Greenlane, emphasized the corridor's role in addressing the urgent need for publicly available electric charging infrastructure. He highlighted the corridor's potential to serve as a model for future EV charging hubs, catering to the evolving needs of the transportation industry.
