Galp Acquires 361 MW Wind Portfolio in Spain From Acciona Energía
Galp has acquired a 361 MW portfolio of operational onshore wind assets in Spain from Acciona Energía, marking another step in the company's power portfolio optimization strategy. The acquisition follows Galp's earlier purchase of a 351 MW Spanish wind portfolio announced in April, further increasing the scale and diversification of its renewable generation business.
The portfolio comprises 15 operational wind farms situated across Spain, in regions with established wind resources. The assets have an average commercial operation date of 2005 and are expected to generate around 0.8 TWh of electricity annually under merchant market conditions. The transaction was completed with simultaneous signing and closing, carries no associated net debt, and reflects an enterprise value of €420 million as of January 1, 2026.
Following the acquisition, Galp's installed renewable capacity increases to 2.7 GW, with annual electricity generation of approximately 5 TWh. Wind power will account for about 30% of the company's renewable portfolio, compared with a stronger previous weighting toward solar generation. According to Galp, the broader technology mix is intended to improve generation profiles, increase exposure to higher-value opportunities in power markets, and strengthen the returns of its renewables business. On a pro forma basis, assuming both Spanish wind acquisitions had been consolidated from the start of 2026, Galp Renewables EBITDA would be approximately €110 million for the year.
