PPC Group Expands into Poland with 277.3 MW Renewables Portfolio
PPC Group has entered the Polish renewable energy market through the acquisition of a 277.3 MW portfolio of wind and solar assets from EDP Renewables Polska and EDP Renewables Polska HoldCo, marking the company's latest expansion in Central and Southeastern Europe.
The portfolio includes three operational wind farms with a combined capacity of 130.5 MW, two operating solar photovoltaic plants totaling 44.9 MW, and two solar projects under development with a combined capacity of 101.9 MW. The development projects are expected to enter operation in 2029 and will use cable pooling technology to share existing grid connection infrastructure with nearby wind farms.
The acquisition forms part of PPC Group's 2026–2030 strategy, which targets expansion across regional renewable energy markets. In a company statement, Konstantinos Mavros, Deputy CEO for Renewables, said: "Just days after announcing our entry into the Hungarian market, today we are announcing our expansion into the highly promising Polish market, taking another major step in implementing our strategy for PPC Group's next phase of growth across Central and Southeastern Europe."
According to the company, Poland is one of its targeted growth markets alongside Hungary and Slovakia, with plans to develop 2.2 GW of renewable energy and storage projects across the three countries by 2030. The expansion supports PPC Group's goal of increasing its installed generating capacity to 24.3 GW by the end of the decade, with nearly half of that capacity located outside Greece.
