In Adana, Türkiye, Beta Enerji has opened what the company describes as one of Europe’s largest integrated energy manufacturing facilities operating under a single roof.
The new 120,000-square-meter campus brings together transformer production, switchgear manufacturing, testing laboratiories, assembly operations, warehousing, and logistics into one centralized operation designed to support rising global demand for energy infrastructure.

During an exclusive visit to the new Energy and Technology Campus, Transformer Technology explored how the company is positioning itself to compete in increasingly demanding transformer and grid modernization markets.
Speaking during the visit, Yusuf Cenk Dağsuyu, CEO of Beta Enerji, described the project as a major milestone for the company’s future growth and manufacturing capabilities.

The facility is designed to manufacture both distribution and large power transformers alongside a broad range of switching products and integrated energy solutions.
Dağsuyu explained that global investment in renewable energy and grid infrastructure continues driving strong demand across the power sector.
“All over the world the potential is very high for green energy, and because of this, demand is very high,” he said. “We already started to produce in this facility under one roof.”

The company expects the campus to manufacture approximately 2,400 distribution transformers and around 30 large power transformers monthly, in addition to switchgear and other energy equipment.
The technical tour of the facility was led primarily by Business Development Executive Walid Mitawa, who explained how the new campus significantly expands Beta Enerji’s manufacturing flexibility compared to the company’s previous site.


“In our old factory, we only had the capacity to produce up to 100 MVA transformers and 170 kV,” Mitawa explained. “Due to limited space, we could not have competitive lead times.”
The new production halls are designed to support transformers up to 1,000 MVA and 1,000 kV, including generator step-up transformers, shunt reactors, autotransformers, and both single-phase and three-phase units.
According to Mitawa, the centralized layout improves manufacturing flow and operational efficiency by minimizing unnecessary movement between production stages. Warehousing, assembly, testing, and dispatch operations are integrated through an ERP-based traceability system designed to improve coordination across the entire facility.
The company has also implemented barcode-based tracking systems throughout production, allowing teams to monitor operators, machines, materials, and manufacturing stages across transformer assembly operations.
Mitawa noted that the facility was designed not only for higher capacity, but also for greater versatility.
“In this hall, we’ll be able to produce all kinds of power transformers and special design transformers,” he said.
Beta Enerji expects annual production capacity to eventually reach approximately 400 power transformers and 25,000 distribution transformers, depending on product mix and project requirements.
One of the most technically significant parts of the campus is the company’s new testing infrastructure, introduced during the tour by Jamali Ali, Projects and Investment Manager for Beta Enerji.
The testing area includes a large Faraday cage and multiple transformer laboratories capable of performing routine, type, and special testing for large power transformers. According to Ali, the laboratory infrastructure is one of the key factors enabling Beta Enerji to manufacture and validate transformers up to 1,000 MVA and 1,000 kV entirely in-house.

In addition to the main high-power laboratory, the campus includes five additional laboratories supporting medium power, distribution, and dry type transformer testing, creating a total of eight laboratories across the site.

Beyond transformers, the campus also includes extensive switchgear and kiosk manufacturing operations. During the visit, Mitawa highlighted the company’s focus on compact equipment design and internal R&D development.
“As you can see here, in normal cases, a similar unit from our competition could be bigger,” he explained while presenting the company’s air-insulated switchgear assembly line.
According to Mitawa, years of investment in research and development allowed Beta Enerji to reduce equipment size while maintaining technical performance and improving material efficiency.



The company has invested approximately USD 130 million into the new campus, including automated storage systems, production infrastructure, and digital manufacturing systems connected through ERP integration.
Workforce development also plays a major role in the company’s long term strategy. Beta Enerji partners with local universities and educational institutions while operating its own Beta Academy training program and Beta Next internship initiative.
“In a factory like this, definitely you will need a lot of skilled labor,” Mitawa said. “In order for us to achieve this, we have to partner with local schools and universities.”
After touring the campus, it became evident that Beta Enerji is positioning itself as a highly capable integrated manufacturer focused on large-scale transformer production, testing capabilities, and vertically integrated energy equipment manufacturing.
