A series of global crises over the past decade has fundamentally reshaped how energy systems are perceived. From conflict-induced supply chain disruptions to geopolitical instability and security risks, it has become clear that reliable power systems are not only a technical prerequisite, but a strategic founda tion of economic resilience, national security and long-term competitiveness.
Forward-looking energy operators are increasingly moving away from standalone equipment towards integrated, scalable solutions that form part of a broader energy ecosystem. Modern power systems must not only deliver energy efficiently, but also ensure protection, resilience and operational continuity in increasingly complex and interconnected environments. Companies capable of combining engineering excellence with strong digital capabilities are therefore best positioned to respond to evolving market needs and increasing system complexity.
Elite engineering expertise for robust and integrated power systems
This is where KONČAR Group enters the picture – a Croatian high-tech manufacturer with a century-long tradition and global recognition for its rare and specialized expertise. Building on this foundation, KONČAR delivers comprehensive solutions and services for robust power systems of the future, spanning the entire energy value chain – from generation, transmission and distribution of electricity to advanced digital solutions and platforms for system management, monitoring and cybersecurity of critical and urban infrastructure. While KONČAR is globally recognized for the manufacturing of custom-made transformers of various types and voltage levels, with more than half a million units delivered to over 120 countries worldwide, its strength is increasingly rooted in its integrated approach to energy solutions. Thanks to this, KONČAR continues to strengthen its global presence and recognition as both a manufacturer and a system integrator, capable of delivering complex, turnkey energy solutions, consistently proven through an expanding portfolio of international references and projects.

A trusted strategic partner in highly demanding Nordic markets
KONČAR’s adaptability to technically challenging environments is best illustrated through projects delivered in Sweden and Norway, highly demanding and competitive markets typically reserved for the most capable industry players. For many years, KONČAR has consistently demonstrated its engineering expertise in these markets, while its latest strategic advancements and strengthened market position further confirm its strong reputation and growing global competitiveness. Particular emphasis is placed on projects carried out by Dalekovod, a KONČAR Group company. In Sweden, Dalekovod is constructing the 400 kV Kilanda–Skogssäter transmission line for Svenska Kraftnät, spanning more than 43 kilometres and executed under exceptionally demanding technical and organisational conditions, including work in close proximity to highways and difficult river crossings. In Norway, the company is involved in the construction of a 420 kV transmission line on the Vik–Sogndal section, a project that includes crossing one of the country’s largest fjords, further demonstrating its capability to deliver in extreme terrain conditions.
These activities are further complemented by new strategic contracts in the Nordic market. Notably, KONČAR has secured a major agreement with Svenska Kraftnät for the construction of the 400 kV Munga substation in Sweden, executed on a turnkey basis, as well as a contract in Norway with Hafslund Kraft for the delivery of a 99 MVA generator for the Hemsil 3 hydro-power plant, including design, manufacturing, installation and commissioning. Together, these projects highlight KONČAR’s role as a reliable partner in delivering sophisticated high-voltage infrastructure and strengthening the resilience of Nordic power systems.
