Invenergy Starts 120MW Quincy Solar Project
Invenergy and Grant County PUD (GCPUD) have broken ground on the 120MW Quincy Solar Energy Center near Moses Lake, Washington, with completion expected in late 2027.
The project will combine solar generation and battery energy storage on a 670-acre site and is expected to produce enough electricity to serve the equivalent of 25,000 homes. Grant PUD signed a 20-year power purchase agreement with Invenergy in 2025.
The facility will include solar panels, electrical collection systems, inverters, a project substation and associated infrastructure. More than 200 jobs are expected during peak construction.
Mateo Gomez, Invenergy's senior manager for development, said battery storage is part of creating a “secure, reliable grid” and is “incredibly important.”
He added: “As Washington experiences growing electricity demand and increasing pressure on the grid from extreme weather conditions, projects like Quincy Solar help strengthen security and support a more resilient energy future.”
The project highlights growing investment in renewable generation, battery storage, grid resilience and power infrastructure.
