Jacobs Advancing Germany’s Grid Expansion
Jacobs has been selected by GermaAdvancing Germany's grid expansionn transmission system operator TransnetBW for a seven-year framework agreement supporting the country’s electricity grid expansion.
Under the agreement, Jacobs will provide engineering, project controls, permitting, environmental services, and construction oversight across multiple transmission projects. The company’s support will cover activities from early planning through engineering, procurement, and construction phases.
The framework is part of Germany’s ongoing effort to modernize its power network and integrate growing renewable energy capacity. Jacobs will build on its previous transmission infrastructure experience in Germany, including work on the SuedLink high-voltage underground transmission program.
TransnetBW will maintain overall responsibility for project governance and delivery as the grid operator continues expanding critical energy infrastructure.
The agreement highlights the increasing demand for engineering and construction expertise as Germany advances its energy transition and invests in transmission capacity.
