Hitachi Energy Partners with RT-One on Latin America’s Largest AI Data Center Platform
Hitachi Energy and RT‑One have signed an agreement to develop electrification infrastructure for what is described as Latin America’s largest artificial intelligence data center platform in Brazil. The initiative spans campuses in Uberlândia (MG) and Maringá (PR), with a third potential site under evaluation.
Under the memorandum of understanding, Hitachi Energy will provide high‑voltage electrical systems and grid connections designed to deliver energy efficiency, reliability and resilience needed for large data center operations. The initial phase includes 100 megawatts (MW) at the Uberlândia campus and up to 200 MW at the Maringá campus, with modular expansion beyond 400 MW per campus. RT‑One expects first deliveries in 2026.
Fábio Nugnezi, Director of Marketing and Sales at Hitachi Energy in Brazil, said: “We signed this agreement with RT‑One because we believe in Brazil’s potential as a global hub for AI and data centers… enabling reliable and sustainable power for their data centers.”
Ricardo Simões, Global VP at RT‑One, added: “Hitachi Energy, bringing its entire portfolio of high‑voltage systems integration and automation, is an essential partner for the development of energy infrastructure focused on large‑scale data centers.”
The project targets support for AI, high‑performance computing (HPC), cybersecurity and sovereign cloud services, with Brazil’s electricity demand forecast to grow around 3.3% annually through 2035.
