Honeywell and LS Electric Partner to Boost Data Center Power Management
Honeywell and LS ELECTRIC have announced a global partnership to develop integrated hardware and software solutions for data center power management and battery energy storage systems (BESS).
The collaboration aims to combine LS ELECTRIC's expertise in power systems with Honeywell's building automation and AI-driven controls, providing data center operators with more efficient and resilient power distribution. Initial offerings include integrated switchgear and power management solutions that allow seamless monitoring and control of critical infrastructure.
Future developments under the partnership include intelligent electrical power monitoring systems leveraging Honeywell Forge and predictive maintenance capabilities to reduce downtime and manage power quality.
Beyond data centers, the two companies plan to develop grid- and building-aware BESS solutions for commercial and industrial buildings. These modular systems will enable microgrids, improve energy resiliency, and optimize energy sourcing based on utility, weather, and operational data.
The partnership positions Honeywell as a comprehensive provider of building automation, power distribution, and energy storage solutions, addressing growing electricity demands from data centers, which currently consume 1-2% of global electricity production.
Billal Hammoud, President and CEO of Honeywell Building Automation, said the collaboration will deliver "smarter, scalable solutions" for critical industries. JongWoo Kim, President of LS ELECTRIC Power Electric, emphasized the partnership's role in expanding global access to energy-efficient and reliable power solutions.
