Hygenco Green Energies has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Mitsubishi Power to explore green hydrogen- and ammonia-fired gas turbine combined cycle (GTCC) power plants. This partnership aims to deliver integrated solutions both in India and internationally.

Mitsubishi Power is advancing hydrogen and ammonia firing technologies to retrofit existing GTCC plants, converting their fuel from natural gas to greener alternatives. The company has been involved in numerous global projects to promote decarbonization.

Under the MoU, Hygenco will provide green fuel for Mitsubishi Power's technology. Hygenco plans to develop and deploy scalable green hydrogen and ammonia production facilities on a build-own-operate or gas-as-a-service model.

The collaboration is supported by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), which assists emerging countries in strengthening their capabilities through loans, grants, and technical cooperation. Saito Mitsunori, chief representative of JICA India, highlighted the importance of this partnership in addressing climate change and promoting sustainable growth.

Amit Bansal, CEO of Hygenco, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, noting it will combine their green fuel expertise with Mitsubishi Power's technology to drive the decarbonization of power generation and support a sustainable energy future.

Hygenco Green Energies is focused on developing green hydrogen and ammonia projects, offering sustainable fuel solutions to various industries as part of the global energy transition.
