Iberdrola, S.A. has officially appointed Pedro Azagra as its new Group CEO, replacing Armando Martínez. Azagra, who has led Iberdrola's US subsidiary Avangrid for the past three years, takes over following 25 years with the company, initially serving as Executive Director of Development, driving Iberdrola's international expansion.

Azagra holds a degree in Law and Business Administration from ICADE at Universidad Pontificia de Comillas in Madrid, where he also taught Corporate Finance and Mergers & Acquisitions. He earned an MBA from the University of Chicago and began his career in investment banking at Morgan Stanley before joining Iberdrola.

Alongside leading Iberdrola Group, Azagra also serves on the Board and Audit Committee of Neoenergia, Iberdrola's Brazilian subsidiary.

To fill Azagra's former role, José Antonio Miranda, current CEO of Avangrid Power, has been named CEO of Iberdrola USA. Miranda holds a master's in Industrial Engineering from the University of Oviedo and an MBA from ICADE. He has previous leadership experience with Gamesa in China and the US and serves on the board of American Clean Power and as a member of the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA).
