The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced and driven Quality Manager to join our Power Transformer Business Unit based in Melbourne. This is a key leadership role responsible for ensuring the highest standards of product and process quality across the full project lifecycle – from design and manufacturing to delivery and installation.

Reporting to the General Manager and working as part of the senior management team, you will lead a small team of quality professionals and play a central role in promoting a culture of excellence, safety, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Champion quality across the business unit, ensuring alignment with customer expectations and business objectives
  • Manage and maintain our Quality Management System (QMS) in line with ISO 9001 and other relevant standards
  • Lead, develop and support a small team of quality assurance engineers
  • Oversee audits and inspections–internal, external, and customer-led
  • Drive quality outcomes in collaboration with Sales, Engineering, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and Finance teams
  • Monitor and report on key quality KPIs and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Embed a culture of accountability, operational discipline, and proactive problem-solving

About You

You are a quality-focused professional with strong technical knowledge, leadership experience, and a passion for continuous improvement.

What you bring:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Quality Management or a related discipline
  • Significant experience in quality leadership roles in a manufacturing or engineering environment (ideally within the transformer or energy sector)
  • Deep knowledge of ISO 9001ISO 45001, and ISO 14001 standards
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies
  • Strong stakeholder engagement, communication, and change management skills
  • Experience with power transformer design and manufacturing (up to 330 kV), and knowledge of IEEEIEC, and FM Global standards (highly regarded)
