Koehler and CMB Launch Wind Energy Venture KB Renewables
Koehler Renewable Energy and CMB Energy have launched a new joint venture, KB Renewables, to focus on the development and operation of wind energy projects, with plans to expand into solar power and battery energy storage in the future.
Koehler Renewable Energy holds an 80% stake in the partnership, while CMB Energy holds the remaining 20%. The joint venture aims to build a wind power portfolio with 1 GW of installed capacity by 2030, achieved through both new developments and acquisitions of existing or planned wind farms.
Dr. Claus M. Brodersen, Managing Director of KB Renewables, said the company will play a key role in advancing sustainable power generation across Europe. Nicolas Christoph, also Managing Director, and Dr. Stefan Karrer, COO of Koehler Group, were present at the joint venture's launch event.
The partnership reflects a broader trend in the energy sector, as firms align with Europe's clean energy targets and seek to diversify through collaborative ventures.
The joint venture announcement comes amid continued investment in wind infrastructure across the continent, with companies like KB Renewables helping to drive energy transition goals.
