KONČAR Signs €4.5M Contract to Build Two Solar Power Plants in Slovenia
KONÄŒAR Group, a leading Croatian energy and electrical engineering company, has signed a contract with Slovenian utility Hidroelektrarne na Spodnji Savi d.o.o. (HESS) for the construction of two new solar power plants.
The projects, named FEBR-D1 and FEBR-D2, will be located on the left bank of the Sava River, a few kilometers upstream from the Brežice Hydropower Plant. The plants will have a combined installed capacity of 9.2 MWp, supported by 14,790 photovoltaic modules.
Valued at approximately €4.5 million, the contract outlines an ambitious timeline: both plants are expected to be completed and commissioned by the end of 2026.
This marks a continuation of the successful cooperation between KONÄŒAR and HESS, following earlier collaboration on hydropower infrastructure in the region. The new solar facilities represent a significant step in enhancing Slovenia's renewable energy portfolio and align with broader EU goals for clean energy transition.
The project also reflects KONÄŒAR's strategic commitment to expanding its solar and hybrid energy portfolio across the region, as well as its emphasis on cross-border partnerships in the energy sector.
