Luminace Acquires 9.3 MW of Illinois Community Solar Projects
Luminace has acquired a 9.3 MW portfolio of community solar projects from developer Renewable Properties. The portfolio includes two projects in Illinois: the 5.16 MW County Line Solar project in Shorewood and the 4.06 MW Bemes Road Solar project in Will County.
Construction for County Line Solar is expected to begin in the coming months and reach commercial operation by the fourth quarter of 2026. Bemes Road Solar is targeted for completion in the second quarter of 2027. Both projects are set to participate in Illinois’ Shines Adjustable Block Program, which provides incentives for community solar development under the 2021 Climate and Equitable Jobs Act (CEJA).
This is the second major transaction between Luminace and Renewable Properties in Illinois. In September 2024, Luminace acquired a 20.85 MWdc portfolio from Renewable Properties. Following the new acquisition, Luminace reports more than 200 MW of community solar projects either operating or under construction in Illinois.
Aaron Halimi, Founder and CEO of Renewable Properties, said the projects will deliver solar energy to local communities and reduce electricity costs. Brendon Quinlivan, CEO of Luminace, stated the company plans to complete the projects in 2026 and 2027.
Renewable Properties intends to use the proceeds from the sale to support ongoing development of solar, energy storage, and EV charging projects across the U.S.
