Mezzanine Partners to Launch Croatia’s First Dark Green Energy Fund

20 Nov 2024
Croatia-based Mezzanine Partners has secured €50 million for its Energy Adria fund, aiming to support renewable energy projects such as wind farms, solar power plants, and battery storage. Negotiations are ongoing to raise an additional €50 million from domestic institutional investors, with the fund expected to launch by Q1 2025.

The Energy Adria fund is set to become Croatia's first dark green fund, adhering to Article 9 of the EU's Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation (SFDR). This regulation imposes the highest sustainability standards, ensuring a strong commitment to clean energy.

With a potential capacity to support 200 MW of renewable energy projects, the fund offers flexible financing options, including co-ownership or mezzanine financing, with a focus on Croatia and nearby countries.

Krešimir Gjenero, Deputy President of the Board of Directors, highlighted the fund's ambition to drive green energy investments, stating, "This is an opportunity to set a new benchmark for sustainability in Croatia's energy sector."
