New GE Vernova Office in Poland to Support Grid, Renewables, and Storage

13 May 2025
GE Vernova Inc (NYSE:GEV), a US-based energy equipment manufacturer, has opened a new regional office in Katowice, Poland, as part of its strategy to support the region's decarbonisation and energy transition goals.

According to a company statement shared on social media, the Katowice office will serve as an engineering hub focused on grid modernisation, renewable energy integration, and energy storage across Poland, the Baltic states, and Eastern Europe--regions increasingly committed to building a decarbonised and interconnected European energy system.

At the opening event, Slawomir Zygowski, CEO of GE Vernova in Poland, emphasized the company's long-term commitment to Poland and neighboring countries. He stated that the new hub has the potential to play a key role in advancing the company's mission in the region.

This move comes as GE Vernova, which was spun off from General Electric in 2024, strengthens its footprint in Poland, where GE has been active since 1992. The company, alongside Polish construction firm Polimex Mostostal, was recently selected to build onshore infrastructure for the 1.5-GW Baltica 2 offshore wind farm, a project developed by PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna and Danish energy firm Ørsted.
